For those of us who were frightened while reading Michael Crichton's book "Prey", about swarming intelligent nano particles, it is reassuring to learn of the launch of a new project aimed at bringing leading researchers together to facilitate an international dialogue on the social, ethical and legal benefits and potential impacts of nanoscience and nanotechnologies. It is called Nanologue, is funded by the European Commission, and initiated by the Wuppertal Institute, Forum for the Future, EMPA and triple innova. The project is scheduled to last 18 months, and information can be found at www.nanologue.net, or on Tim Aldrich's blog www.altfunction.net
