Judicial self assessment

Interesting editorial in the Washington Post on "Progress on Judicial Ethics" (full article here). I am all for self-control and think this is definitely the way forward. Hard to imagine that an outside body of non judicial members could sit on judgement on members of the federal court. Much better this way, and it works. Unfortunately, one bad apple can ruin the reputation of the profession, and as with all statistical distributions, this does happen.
