It is common knowledge that the current Bush administration has been hard on whistle-blowers, going against the law by pretexting security or something. Nothing should excuse bad behavior, and regardless of where you are working, the law should apply to all. Apparently, 4 inspector generals are under investigation for persecuting/punishing/re-assigning whistle-blowers. A call for action and a description of a case in the Department of Commerce where Mr Johnnie Frazier is one of the inspector generals under investication in this New York Times editorial.
Federal employees and Department of Defense employees do not have protections like the private sector. All employees should have protections, and the US Government should be a model of good policies and problem resolution. Please visit my site and hear some things that illustrate what a mess this all is. http://whistleblowersupporter.typepad.com
Also, write your Senators and tell them to get S.274 out of hold and vote on it and pass it! This bill would give federal employees whistleblower protections. Thanks!
