McDonald's associates critics of Happy Meals to kids with food police (see article in the Financial Times here). Well, it is true. After cigarettes, well meaning people are out to combat obesity and are on a crusade to ban soft drinks and junk food. So toys with meals that don't meet certain standards will not be allowed at the end of 2011. There seems to be a consensus here, so we will even see legislation about this.
It would be nice if they did something about teen drunkeness too. And why not drugs - "just say no" does not seem to be working. I suspect that at some point parents to be are going to be obliged to take a course and pass a test... And be accountable for their offsprings' misdeeds.
