Some think the people only change under pressure - well then the Rupert Murdoch media-ethics scandal about the News of the World hacking will actually have a positive outcome. The UK media is sending around all kinds of ethics memos and a new Ethics Code is being promised.
This comes not a second too soon. The UK is a beacon in CSR and fair play (soccer hooligans aside), and the comportment of a lot of its media - or gutter press - was a real aberration. Hopefully, the government will force the media to clean up its act, if they don't do it pro-actively.
