I don't know why I have not blogged about this site, Worldchanging,  before - it is truly outstanding, and really functions as a group weblog (also received all kinds of awards). The executive editor is Alex Steffen who has spent his carreer exploring ways to build a better future. It deals with sustainable living, and the impact we make or could make. It pushes us to change our thinking. The site covers stuff, shelter, cities, community, business, politics and the planet. It is an incredible on-going conversation.

WWF in Second Life

Want to learn about conservation? Nature's real life problems? Well the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has just opened Conservation Island in Second Life. Go interact with an orang-utan and learn about this endagered species - or look at environmental issues with a floating panda. You can also interact with WWF staff by instant message. Partnerships for the Planet

Partnerships for the Planet: stories from Geneva is a booklet and a website and shows examples of partnerships between the private sector, international organizations and the public sector that give Geneva a crossroad for sustainable development. Covered are social issues and the environment, economy and the environment, alliances between international organizations (chemical wastes, climate change, disasters, trade, security), and public private partnerships (corporate associations for social responsibility, climate change, industry practices, water, waste management). The book was a joint project between the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the World Conservation Union, and the United Nations Environment Programme.

I just came across the Sprig site... It is really cool the way "green consumption" is generating these fun sites. There are incredible offers - be it for fashion, food or fun travel.

People who make a difference

Just came across the non profit Giraffe Heroes Project, that celebrates people who stick their necks out for the common good. They tell the stories of these Heroes in the media and on their website. Also have  a section for kids K through 12, here.
